Miami Vice. Not just just an emblematic show from the 80's featuring crime, music, and questionable fashion, but also an exquisite blend of two cocktail favorites: the piña colada and the strawberry daiquiri. A match made in heaven!

Popular amongst booze cruisers and Cancun travelers, the Miami Vice is the perfect mix of citrus, rum, and tropical flavor for your taste buds. Whether you're hosting a rager or just entertaining a few friends, we'll teach you how to make a Miami Vice cocktail that will keep the party going all night long.

Ready to get started? Take a quick look at all 3 of our methods and choose which one is most appealing to you.

Miami Vice Recipe #1 - Quick 'N Easy

This is the most popular method, and—as the name suggests—it’s super quick and easy to make.

What you'll need:

  • 5 oz. rum (any white or gold rum will do, but Bacardi 151 is our favorite)
  • 1 package frozen strawberry daiquiri mix
  • 1 package piña colada mix
  • A blender

In your blender, mix half of your rum and your frozen strawberry daiquiri mix. Set aside in a cool place (you want to make sure that it stays as cool as possible) and rinse out your blender.

Mix the remaining rum and frozen piña colada mix.

Add both your piña colada mix and strawberry daiquiri mix to a cocktail glass. For a cool visual effect, try layering them on top of one another.

Serve and enjoy!

Miami Vice Recipe #2 - Fresh Refresher

We rarely see this method used as it's more time-consuming; however,  the fresh ingredients make a tasty cocktail that's totally worth the effort.

What you'll need:

  • 5 oz. rum (once again, Bacardi 151 is the best)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup
  • 1/4 cup cream of coconut
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • Ice
  • A blender

Make the strawberry daiquiri mix by adding the strawberries, half of the rum, simple syrup, and a handful of ice to the blender and mix until liquified. Set aside in a cool place and rinse out your blender.

Make the piña colada mix by adding the cream of coconut, pineapple juice, and ice to the blender, once again, mixing together until the ingredients are liquified.

Grab your cocktail glasses and add the two mixtures together by layering them on top of one another.

Serve and enjoy!

Recipe # 3 - An Absolut Miami Vice

Here's a version made with two types of Absolut Vodka.

That’s it, friends!
